Scottish Premier League - Week 11 Preview

Scottish Premier League – Week 11 Preview

Four Saturday games and two Sunday games are the make up this week. Big news with St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes moving to Bristol City to take over.

This week some more value to be found, tips follow.

Motherwell v Kilmarnock (Motherwell @ $1.85)

The early kick-off on Saturday, and a potentially tricky tie, given Kilmarnock’s strong performance v Celtic last week, but Motherwell are a fairly classy side. Motherwell are currently in second place and while they haven’t been scoring a large number of goals of late, they have been dominating their games. On that basis, I’m happy to have them at home.

Dundee United v St Johnstone (Draw @ $3.30, St Johnstone @ $3.60)

Tricky game. The loss of McInnes makes it hard to gauge how St Johnstone will respond. Dundee United have been disappointing this season and, despite having lost a number of quality players this season, still have the talent to be better than their results suggest. Their home record is poor, while St Johnstone’s away record is quite good. I’m taking the draw due to the uncertainty of the impact of the change at St Johnstone but will also take a play on the St Johnstone win.

Inverness CT v Dunfermline (Inverness @ $1.86)

It’s hard to ever be incredibly confident when dealing with the two bottom sides of the SPL, however, I am more than confident with Inverness. They have put in some very good performances at home (despite the poor record) and while Dunfermline have a half decent away record, their recent form has shown they’ll be hard pressed to avoid relegation. I think there is value in the odds on offer.

St Mirren v Hibs (St Mirren @ $2.15)

All I really need to do is look at St Mirren’s performance v Rangers last week, when they effectively outplayed Rangers, and I’m convinced $2.15 is massive overs in this one. Hibs have been playing better of late, but last week at home against Motherwell they were played off the park. Easy money St Mirren.

Celtic v Aberdeen (Celtic HT/FT @ $1.60)

Disappointing to see such ordinary odds available for a Celtic win. Yes they should win, but their form of late has been far from convincing. In addition, Aberdeen’s form has been fairly decent. They’ve finally worked out how to score! Will take the Celtic HT/FT double in this one, but am not massively confident. Still, it is the best odds on offer for the game.

Hearts v Rangers (Draw @ $3.55)

Happy to take a draw in this. The sides drew when they last met on the opening day, and Hearts have been pretty decent of late too. Rangers have been the best side in the SPL this season but, again, last couple of games haven’t been that great. Given Hearts took points off Celtic when they met at Tynecastle, I think they’ll take points of Rangers at Tynecastle. Not sure they’ll beat them though.

BET OF THE DAY: Inverness CT
